Restoration Details

The Land Conservancy is working to ensure that the restoration of Ross Bay Villa is one of the best and most meticulously documented restorations available.  We are diligent about maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, attention to detail and historic accuracy in this project.

In all of our work on historical properties and heritage buildings, we adhere to recognized standards of care for heritage buildings, notably the U.S. Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties (with Guidelines for Preserving, Rehabilitating, Restoring and Reconstructing Historic Buildings [1995] which we have been using since 1999.

More recently, we have been reviewing the applicability of the new Canadian Standards for Historic Buildings.  We believe that we are the only non-government body in British Columbia to be assessing the new Canadian Standards.
