The Codd Wetland property encompasses just over 250 acres in the northeast corner of Pitt Meadow BC. Since 2000 TLC staff and volunteers have been working hard to raise awareness and funds to purchase and protect the area from being cleared and developed into a commercial cranberry operation. As always TLC worked with local community groups including the Pitt Polder Preservation Society and the Alouette Field Naturalists to see the area protected.

In May 2004 TLC and our partners celebrated as the area was collectively purchased in partnership by TLC, the GVRD, the District of Pitt Meadows, the Province of BC, and Ducks Unlimited. Now known as the Codd Wetland Aquilini Conservation Reserve the area provides a safe wildlife refuge for the hundreds of species presently using the area forever. TLC was able to contribute a significant amount of money towards this multi-million dollar purchase, but still needs to raise approximately $150,000.00 by May 2006 to fulfill our contribution responsibilities.
