Many people have a strong bond with their land – they love it, appreciate its values and want to see those values protected. There are many ways that ecological and heritage values can be protected by working with a Land Trust such as The Land Conservancy or with other stewardship groups.
TLC achieves its conservation objectives by working in a non-confrontational, businesslike manner. We work with many partners, all levels of government, other agencies, businesses, community groups and individuals to ensure the broadest support for our activities. We are here for the long term. When we take properties under our care, we intend that it is in perpetuity.
But we cannot do it alone. Without caring and conscientious landowners, who want to see their property protected as well, we cannot succeed. We are always willing to work with landowners to help determine the best ways to conserve and/or be good stewards of their land. This section provides a brief overview of some of the ways this can be done.
