The campground is located at the north end of the Sooke Potholes Regional Park.  There are 60 vehicle accessible campsites and 6 bicycle only accessible campsites nestled amongst Douglas Fir and mixed woodland forest.  Vehicle access to the campground, other than for the purpose of overnight camping, is strictly prohibited.

Wilderness or backcountry camping is not permitted.  Camping outside designated areas is prohibited.

Cyclists are encouraged to come out and enjoy the campground.  The Sooke Potholes Park can be reached via the Galloping Goose Regional Trail.  The cycle campsite includes a common shelter for bicycles and cooking, a common fire pit and 6 campsites. The mostly flat 55km ride from Victoria offers stunning views and good grade the entire trip.  For more information please visit:  The Galloping Goose Regional Trail. Bicycle helmets are mandatory in British Columbia.

No cabins, yurts or lodges for public use.

We have three newly constructed wheel chair accessible toilets for 2007.  Please be advised that the campground ring road is kept in good condition but it is not paved.

Cold water taps are located at the campground.

Pit toilets.  Toilet paper is provided.  The toilets are cleaned daily.

  There are no showers available.

No sani-station/dump facilities.  The nearest sani-station location is about 10km away at the Sooke River Flats Campsite.  The cost for a non-registered sani-dump there is $5.00.  The nearest facilities in a provincial park are located at French Beach Park or Goldstream Park.

Fires are permitted in designated rings provided at each campsite.  Bans are posted on the campground homepage and are strictly enforced.  Gathering firewood from the area around your campsite or anywhere else in the park is a ticketable offense under the Park Act.

  There are no electrical hook-ups.

There are a number of marked trails at the park.  For your own safety and preservation of the park, obey posted signs and keep to designated trails.  There are dangerous cliffs at the park.  Shortcutting trails may put you at personal risk, as well as destroy plant life and soil structure.

This park does not have a playground.

Swimming in the naturally-formed pools is a very popular summertime activity.  There are no lifeguards on duty.

There is no boat launch available at this park.

Opportunities for catch-and-release fishing exist in this park; restrictions apply.  All anglers should check the current regulations issued by Fisheries and Oceans Canada prior to fishing.  Anyone fishing or angling in British Columbia must have an appropriate licence.

Horseback riding is permitted on the roadway and adjacent Galloping Goose Regional Trail.

Pets/domestic animals should be on a leash at all times and are not allowed in beach areas or park buildings.  Their behaviour is your responsibility and you must dispose of their excrement.  Please help us keep the area pet friendly.  Please do not allow your pet to chase wildlife.
