OPEN AND CLOSE DATES – What are your opening and closing dates for the 2011 season?

AGE – What is the minimum age to camp?
You must be 19 years of age in order to stay at the Campground. Any one under the age of 19 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian (25 years of age or older). ID will be checked at the gate.

Our reservation system closes at midnight 3 days in advance. For example, Friday arrivals must be booked by Tuesday midnight. On long weekends Sunday reservations will be closed 4 days in advance.

No. A reservation guaratees that there will be a site available for you. The office has no way of knowing which sites are available at the campground and cannot entertain requests for specific sites, areas or proximity to other sites. The campground is run on a first come, first served basis for site selection.

ARRIVAL TIME – How early may I arrive to pick my site?
Arriving guests are allowed access to the campground after 1:00pm. This is to allow our guests departing time to leave the campground. You will not be allowed access to campground sooner than 1:00pm.

NOISE – Do you have a noise policy?
Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. It is our mandate to offer a safe environment for families and to promote the QUIET ENJOYMENT of the Potholes. If you or individuals within your group do not adhere to our posted quiet hours you will be asked to leave.

WATER – Can I drink the water?
Yes, our water is safe to drink. It is tested frequently by Vancouver Island Health Authority.

VISITORS – Can guests visit my campsite during the day?
Guests may visit campers. One car maximum. Guests must depart by 8pm. A $20 refundable security deposit is taken at our gate, the car licence plate number is taken, and your guests receive a parking pass. Again, guests must depart by 8pm. Please note, only two vehicles are allowed in each campsite. Extra vehicles must park in pay parking lots.

Firewood is available to purchase at $6.00/bundle. Please note that fire bans can happen during the summer at the discretion of the local Fire Department. Please do not burn garbage, plastics or anything that isn’t firewood in your campfire.

Tenting and RV campsites are booked on an individual basis. Please understand that during our busy summer season there is no guarantee of side by side sites.

Day Use Parking is not available at the Campground. Access to the campground is granted only to registered campers and their guests. There are however three day use parking lots within the Sooke Potholes Regional Park. The two top lots are operated by CRD Parks and cost $2.00/day. The lower lot is operated by BC Parks and costs $3.00/day. Cars must vacate these parking lots before the gates close at 9PM.

We do not have sani-station/dump facilities. The nearest sani-station location is about 10km away at the Sooke River Flats Campsite. The cost for a non-registered sani-dump there is $5.00. The nearest facilities in a provincial park are located at French Beach Park or Goldstream Park.

PETS – Can I bring my pet?
Domesticated animals are allowed in the campground but not allowed on the beaches or near park buildings. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times and must be cleaned up after.
