More Information:
The Forbes Family has a deep appreciation for the small part of a once expansive wetland area that they have been able to protect from urban encroachment. A trail around the wetland enables neighbours and school children to share in watching this place and learning about its wildlife species. The wetland on the Forbes’ farm is a nesting habitat and an important stop-over for migrating species.
The Forbes’ Family Farm itself represents an important community link to the heritage of family farming in an area where urban encroachment is overtaking agricultural lands as rapidly as wild lands. They continue to bring a creative approach to their initiatives, working with the unique landscape and climate of this region to bring a diverse range of products to local markets.
