| Garden Path, Saanich The Garden Path Centre and Carolyn Heriot welcome you to 2 1/2 acres of peaceful rural land, surrounded by Douglas firs, overlooking Conway creek, open meadow, sheep and horse pasture.
More Information: On this small, yet ecologically significant parcel, high importance is placed on the environment and human health. “It is with pure wonder, humility and boundless joy that I try my best to co-create with Mother Nature, not work against her”. Providing a place for people to connect with food and nature is an important aspect of what Carolyn aims to achieve. Conway Creek flows through their Douglas fir forest on its way to Colquitz River, providing habitat for ducks, birds, and the invertebrates that they feed upon. The riparian area will provide interesting fodder for a native plant walk alongside the creek. The Garden Path is home to “Seeds of Victoria”, certified organic seeds collected fom the beautiful display gardens around the centre (IOPA). Visit the seed catalogue on-line and enjoy colour photos of the rare and unusual plants offered. Carolyn is also author of, A Year on the Garden Path, a 52-week organic gardening guide. It explains, in a fun and easy-to-read style, why its so important to garden organically in cooperation with nature. |
