TLC’s Annual General Meeting will be held this year on September 25th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The AGM will be held at St. Stephen’s Hall, 7921 St. Stephen’s Lane, Saanichton.
The Board of Directors will be proposing a motion at the Annual General Meeting to update TLC’s bylaws. In order to make these changes, we are required to notify all members in advance of the meeting. Please read our Proposed Bylaw Amendments for more information.
In keeping with TLC’s bylaws, a Nominations Committee was struck to recruit candidates for the Board of Directors and to put forward a slate of candidates for the consideration of the membership. Members of the committee are: Briony Penn, David Merner, Ken Millard and Todd Wong.
Members may nominate other candidates if they wish. Further nominations are welcomed, and must be received by the TLC Head Office no later than July 11. They must be signed by five TLC members, and include a written confirmation from the nominee that he/she agrees to stand for election. A short biography of the nominee must also be included. A template for this biography is available from Head Office.
Once all nominations have been recieved, election materials and ballots will be sent to all members in good standing. They will be sent by email to each member for whom we have a valid email address, and by regular mail to all others. These materials will be sent by August 11.
Ballots must be returned to Head Office by September 15. The successful candidates will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on September 25.

Frances Pugh and Gary Holman are hard working members of the present TLC board, with great values-based integrity. Frances deserves to be re-elected.
Gary ran as an independent in last year’s election, but was not elected. The TLC board asked him to become a member of the finance committee, and he was later appointed to the board when a TLC board member resigned to move out of the province. His contributions have been invaluable as he stepped into the role as co-treasurer. Gary deserves to be elected.
I look forward to working with both of them for the coming years on the TLC Board.
